Manton Schools

The 1^st Annual Lake Cadillac Team Marathon+ will be run by teams of four. Members will do one full lap, (7.1 miles) around Lake Cadillac. Runners will be allowed to run more than one leg of the relay if they wish, however the average age of their team members will be added onto their total team age in order to keep in line with the awards categories. Each team will receive four micro-fiber T-shirts. Each runner must include their age as well as gender upon registration in order to place them into the appropriate division for awards.

Although much of the course is on paved walkways around the lake there are sections that will be run on roads open to traffic. Unlike other Team Marathons where teams must provide transportation to and from exchanges for our Team Marathon+ all exchanges will be done in one location, near downtown Cadillac at the Pavilion and docks, across from the city park. Aid stations will be staged along the course with both water and Gatorade available to runners.

We believe Lake Cadillac is a perfect location for our event not only for nature beauty but also the facilities that already exist. There are three restroom facilities along the course including two within walking distance from the start/finish line. The location allows for a great team and family environment and room for all those involved. There are a few stands for those that wish to grill as well as picnic tables. The course also runs past Kenwood Park which has playground equipment as well as plenty of picnic tables and a free open beach. Additionally, the start is in close proximity to the downtown shopping and dining establishments.

Proceeds from our event will go to local non-profit organizations. The Cadillac area will receive some of the profit. Manton High School running programs will also benefit. The funds will be used to help purchases road signs to celebrate their State Finals accomplishments as well as provide money for costs related to team camps.
